The role of Commercial Delivery Driver at General Produce focuses on transporting quality food products safely and efficiently within the Modesto and surrounding areas. This full-time position offers the benefit of no over-the-road work, allowing drivers to return home daily, an appealing feature for those seeking work-life balance. Drivers operate within a scheduled timeframe typically between 5 AM and 4 PM, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining direct customer interactions to provide exceptional service. Job Requirements

  • must be at least 21 years of age
  • valid California Class A Commercial Driver License with air brake endorsement and no interstate restrictions
  • have a driving record that meets company and DOT standards (no DUIs, etc.)
  • at least 1 year of commercial driving experience
  • able to read maps and follow routes
  • comfortable using smartphones or delivery apps
  • basic English reading, writing, and speaking skills

Job Qualifications

  • must be at least 21 years of age
  • valid California Class A Commercial Driver License with air brake endorsement and no interstate restrictions
  • at least 1 year of commercial driving experience, experience travelling in snow/using chains preferred
  • prior work in produce/food distribution is a plus
  • able to read maps, follow routes, and make timely deliveries
  • comfortable using smartphones or delivery apps for routing and communication
  • basic English reading, writing, and speaking skills

Job Duties

  • deliver products safely, accurately, and efficiently while providing exceptional service to customers
  • check, verify, and record delivery information and maintain accurate sales records
  • safely load and unload trucks, ensuring products are handled and stored properly
  • coordinate with office staff to resolve delivery or service issues promptly
  • collect returns, empty containers, or unsold items as needed
  • clean truck interiors, perform routine inspections, and complete minor maintenance tasks to ensure safe operation
