Job Description
WAHVE is an innovative company dedicated to revolutionizing the way seasoned insurance professionals transition into retirement by offering remote work opportunities that allow them to continue contributing their expertise from the comfort of their own homes. Recognizing the value of significant insurance experience, WAHVE seeks to provide a flexible and fulfilling career path that bridges the gap between full retirement and active professional engagement. The company specializes in creating a supportive platform where experienced insurance adjusters and examiners can find part-time or full-time positions that accommodate their desired work-life balance without compromising their knowledge and skills.
As a forward-thinking virtual staffing platform, WAHVE partners with insurance carriers and Third-Party Administrators (TPAs) to fill critical roles, ensuring that their clients receive consistent, high-quality claims support and management. The company takes pride in fostering a welcoming and professional work environment characterized by friendly leadership, comprehensive support, and a strong commitment to customer service. This ethos extends to valuing and preserving the deep industry knowledge held by its workforce while empowering them to make meaningful contributions in long-term remote positions.
The role offered by WAHVE is uniquely tailored to insurance professionals who have extensive experience in property and casualty (P&C) commercial claims. This includes handling a broad spectrum of claim types such as general liability, bodily injury, commercial auto liability and physical damage, workers' compensation, inland marine, professional and management liability, business interruption, liquor liability, garage liability, and umbrella claims. Candidates are encouraged to leverage their expertise in any or all of these lines of insurance to support client needs effectively.
This position involves various responsibilities including setting up claims in the claims management system, thoroughly documenting claims files, reviewing police reports, and evaluating legal and medical bills to ensure accurate claim assessment. Additional valued skills include litigation and subrogation experience, setting claim reserves, drafting reservation of rights letters, managing expense, indemnity, and vendor payments, and conducting recorded statements from insureds and claimants. While an adjuster's license is a plus, WAHVE places high demand on candidates with claims experience in litigation, commercial auto, bodily injury, or construction defects.
Candidates must meet stringent requirements to qualify as a WAHVE Vintage Expert, including possessing a minimum of 25 years of full-time work experience and having at least 10 of the most recent years dedicated to P&C commercial claims adjusting with an insurance carrier or TPA. This ensures that every professional in the WAHVE network brings a wealth of expertise and a thorough understanding of the insurance industry to their remote role.
In addition to flexible scheduling options, employees at WAHVE benefit from health insurance eligibility, a 401(k) plan with a 4% company match, and the elimination of office stress and commuting challenges. The company culture promotes autonomy in choosing preferred tasks and encourages collaboration within a dynamic, virtual team of experienced insurance professionals. This opportunity is not only about continuing a career but enhancing the quality of professional and personal life by working remotely in a role that truly values experience and expertise.
Overall, WAHVE offers an exceptional career alternative for insurance professionals looking to maintain active participation in the workforce while enjoying the benefits of working from home, flexible hours, and a supportive team environment. This unique approach to phased retirement allows candidates to retain their professional identity and contribute meaningfully to the insurance industry, all while balancing the needs of their personal lives and retirement goals.
