We are currently looking for hardworking and detail-oriented Dishwashers to become a vital part of our kitchen and dining service team. As a Dishwasher at IHOP, your role is crucial in maintaining the cleanliness and operational flow of the restaurant. You will be responsible for clearing and resetting tables, cleaning dining areas, washing dishes, pots, utensils, silverware, china, and glassware to the brand’s rigorous standards. This position ensures that all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and guest cleanliness standards are met or exceeded, directly contributing to a positive dining environment.
The job requires you to uphold IHOP's health and safety guidelines while performing tasks like unloading, unboxing, rotating, and properly storing food, equipment, and supplies. Additionally, you will assist in stocking and rotating those supplies in both service areas and the dining room. Your role is essential in keeping the restaurant environment clean, sanitary, and inviting by following detailed cleaning charts and checking restrooms regularly to ensure they meet hygiene and supply standards.
Attention to professional appearance and adherence to the IHOP uniform policy is expected. You will also collaborate with management and other team members to ensure smooth operations and undertake other duties as directed by the General Manager or Assistant Manager. No prior experience is required, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals beginning their career in the hospitality or restaurant industry. Job Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to frequently use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls

- Must comply with all local health, sanitation, and safety guidelines
- Must be able to work in environments with exposure to fumes, airborne particles, caustic chemicals, wet and/or humid conditions, extreme temperatures, electrical shock risks, and radiation risks
Job Qualifications
- No prior experience required
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos
- Ability to understand oral instructions in English and read English or Spanish well enough to read and understand instructions from supervisors, requests from co-workers and guests, and warning and safety labels
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one-step or two-step instructions
- IHOP training course work as assigned
Job Duties
- Develop and maintain professional functional working relationships with IHOP employees and customers
- Clear, clean, and reset tables and clean chairs, booths, and floors after guests leave
- Pick up, sort, and wash all china, silverware, glassware, pots, pans, utensils
- Follow dish machine and/or sink procedures per IHOP SOP
- Unload, unbox, rotate, and store food, equipment, and supplies as necessary
- Stock and rotate all needed supplies in the service areas and dining room
- Comply with all local and SOP health, sanitation, and safety guidelines
- Dispose of all trash properly
- Check restrooms hourly to ensure proper stocking levels of supplies and the cleanliness of the facilities
- Perform all cleaning duties according to posted cleaning charts
- Comply with IHOP uniform and appearance standards per SOP guidelines
- Perform other assignments or tasks as assigned by the General Manager, Assistant Manager, or acting supervisor
