The role available at Gerber Collision & Glass at the Slide Rd location in Lubbock, TX, is for a Porter. This position is integral to complementing the high-quality repairs done by the technicians by ensuring that customer vehicles are cleaned and prepared both before and after the repair process. The Porter is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the entire facility, including the shop, office areas, parking lots, and grounds. This role demands attention to detail, physical stamina, and a proactive approach to supporting the smooth operation of the repair shop.

The Porter will be tasked with pre-washing vehicles before repairs begin and performing thorough exterior and interior cleaning after repairs are completed, ensuring a great customer experience at delivery. Additionally, Porters will handle the transportation of vehicles to and from sublet locations for specialized repair work. This role requires a team player with a positive attitude, customer service skills, and a willingness to learn. The employment is hourly, with a competitive wage ranging from $12.00 to $20.00 per hour, depending on location, skill, education, and experience. Job Duties

  • Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan
  • Maintain daily housekeeping of the office interior including garbage disposal, floor cleaning, and dusting
  • Maintain daily housekeeping of the production area including waste disposal, floor sweeping, and proper tool placement
  • Maintain parking lots and grounds in a neat and orderly fashion including shoveling sidewalks when necessary
  • Pre-wash customer vehicles prior to repairs beginning
  • Perform exterior and interior cleanup of customer vehicles after repairs are complete
  • Transport customer vehicles to sublet locations for repairs
