Job Description

Advantmed is a leading provider specializing in risk adjustment, quality improvement, and value-based solutions catering to health plans and healthcare providers. With a focus on optimizing risk and quality performance, Advantmed employs integrated technology, service, and program solutions that promote effective management and documentation of risk and quality metrics. The organization is dedicated to proactive clinical engagement, especially targeting high acuity populations, enhancing both health outcomes and operational efficiencies. Recognized for its commitment to collaboration, care, and continuous learning, Advantmed fosters a team culture that values bringing fun to the workplace, leveraging collective strengths, exceeding personal goals, caring at every interaction, maintaining integrity, and staying curious and attentive. This approach not only boosts employee morale but also drives superior client satisfaction and industry-leading performance.

The role of a Collaborative Physician at Advantmed is a unique part-time, contract, and remote opportunity designed to support Nurse Practitioners (NPs) by acting as a collaborative or supervising physician. This position involves a minimal time commitment of approximately 4 to 6 hours per month, offering a flexible work schedule suitable for professionals seeking additional income without a full-time workload. The Collaborative Physician ensures that NPs have the necessary professional consultation and collaborative support required by state law to effectively manage patient care activities. This includes conducting quality reviews of patient charts, typically a random 5 percent sample, and being available for consultation during business hours from Monday through Friday.

The compensation structure is performance-based with a $200 flat rate per pay period for the review of 5 percent of up to 134 completed health assessments conducted by NPs, plus an additional $1.50 for each review beyond 134 assessments. For instance, overseeing NPs who complete 1,000 health assessments would involve reviewing 50 charts with corresponding additional compensation, ensuring a fair reward system tied to workload. The role requires adherence to strict confidentiality standards, including the mandatory use of a security application on devices used for work to safeguard patient and employee information. Advantmed values credentialed and licensed physicians who are committed to quality healthcare delivery and compliance with state-specific collaborative practice protocols. This position is ideally suited for board-certified physicians holding valid medical and DEA licenses in California who are interested in a stable, yet flexible, remote work environment that complements their existing professional commitments while contributing meaningfully to population health management efforts.
