Job Description
FIVE18 Family Services is a faith-based nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming communities by ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable children and restoring families. Anchored in Christ-centered compassion, it operates with a commitment to evidence-based impact and team-driven excellence. FIVE18 Family Services leverages community collaboration as a central strategy, engaging local churches, ministry leaders, nonprofits, businesses, and other community stakeholders to build a holistic support system for children and families in need. The organization promotes initiatives such as Vision30 and CarePortal, which are designed to mobilize faith communities and partners into action that tangibly improves lives in their region. This approach strengthens the community ecosystem through shared responsibility, collaboration, and innovative programming that connects resources to those who need them most.
The role of Collaboration Coordinator within FIVE18 Family Services is crucial to advancing its mission through community engagement and partnership development. Operating as a part-time position requiring 15 hours per week, this role offers a flexible schedule with some evening and weekend hours, suited for candidates seeking a meaningful opportunity with adaptable work hours. The Collaboration Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Community Collaboration and is expected to travel up to 60% of the time, primarily within the local region. The position involves representing FIVE18 Family Services at community events, facilitating meetings known as "The Gathering," and supporting the growth and management of CarePortal, a community collaboration platform that connects volunteers and churches to child and family needs.
As a relationship builder and ambassador, the Collaboration Coordinator is responsible for cultivating and stewarding partnerships that encourage community engagement. This includes recruiting and training churches and organizations to join the CarePortal network and Vision30 initiative. The role requires excellent communication skills to relay success stories, updates, and opportunities to deepen involvement, inspiring action among church leaders, volunteers, and other partners. Moreover, the coordinator supports the operational aspects of CarePortal by tracking impact, assisting church response teams, and fostering collaboration across diverse community partners.
Critical to the position are competencies such as strategic thinking, event coordination, public speaking, leadership, and adaptability. The successful candidate must be highly relational, self-motivated, and skilled at connecting people with meaningful service opportunities. Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and CRM software including CarePortal is preferred. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required due to the travel demands of the role.
Overall, this position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about community service and faith-based collaboration, seeking to make a lasting impact on the lives of children and families in their communities through innovative partnerships and strategic engagement.
