Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Over one year of related work experience
- Ability to solve practical problems
- Ability to perform arithmetic calculations with fractions, decimals, and percentages
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to interpret instructions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Physical ability to exert up to 100 pounds occasionally and up to 50 pounds frequently
- Ability to perform physical activities including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
- Willingness to adhere to company policies and dress codes
- Must report to work on time
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Over one year of related work experience
- Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization
- Ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages
- Ability to compose original correspondence and interpret written instructions
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience in supervisory roles preferred
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team
- Knowledge of inventory management and sales analysis
- Familiarity with customer service best practices
- Proficiency in handling cash register and standard coffee shop equipment
Job Duties
- Maintain a positive attitude and create an atmosphere of friendliness and fun through flexibility and teamwork
- Generate a friendly atmosphere by encouraging employees to greet and speak to customers and provide prompt, courteous, and efficient service
- Set department standards for customer service, employee relations, cleanliness, sanitation, professional appearance, and overall profitability
- Smile and greet customers in a friendly manner anywhere in the store
- Learn customers' names and address them by name whenever possible
- Assist customers by escorting them to products, securing out-of-reach products, loading/unloading heavy items, noting and passing along customer suggestions, enhancing shopping experience
- Answer the telephone promptly and provide friendly, helpful service including taking product orders
- Recruit, hire, train, supervise, discipline, and evaluate all department employees
- Determine department goals with store director
- Create weekly work schedules and daily work plans
- Inspect signage and displays for quality and quantity, order products for replenishment
- Handle and resolve customer issues
- Communicate with employees regarding sales and ideas
- Calculate retail pricing and ensure correct pricing
- Extend and post invoices, oversee bookkeeping
- Analyze weekly and monthly sales and trends, prepare ad projections and write ads
- Conduct inventory of the department
- Plan displays, promotions, and determine pre-orders
- Ensure proper temperatures and storage procedures to guarantee freshness and control shrink
- Troubleshoot equipment and ensure maintenance
- Maintain store appearance and equipment
- Complete and implement Advanced Store Training
- Maintain consistent speed of service by ensuring all staffing needs are met
- Enforce personal hygiene and dress guidelines
- Adhere to company policies and store guidelines
- Report to work as scheduled and on time
