Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of barista experience in specialty coffee or 2 years in non-specialty coffee environment
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs
  • Experience with POS systems
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and follow safety protocols

Job Qualifications

  • Passion for customer service
  • One or more years working as a Barista in specialty coffee or two or more years in non-specialty coffee in a high volume fast paced environment
  • Experience using a Point of Sale (POS) system
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40lbs

Job Duties

  • Follow Bluestone Lane recipes and presentation standards in a timely manner
  • Manage coffee shop equipment and tool cleaning and maintenance
  • Complete transactions accurately and follow safety and security measures
  • Dial machine in and maintain consistent espresso extraction as per Bluestone Lane brew ratios
  • Educate, upsell and excite locals about the menu
  • Train, educate and acclimate baristas in training
  • Contribute to innovations enhancing workflow and operations
  • Foster a cohesive team culture and encourage shared goals
  • Report supplier issues promptly
  • Deliver efficient, high quality product
  • Perform monthly coffee and process audits
  • Manage coffee product rotation, ordering and quantity to minimize waste
  • Provide friendly and energetic first contact for locals
  • Recognize and connect with locals by name, face and order
  • Clean and restock condiment stations, tables and counters regularly
  • Maintain grooming guidelines
  • Complete store opening and closing procedures accurately
  • Operate cross-functionally including behind the machine, smash bar and POS
