The role of a Cocktail Waitress at Dania Entertainment Center is integral to maintaining the high standards of guest service within the Food & Beverage Team. This position focuses on providing exceptional beverage and food service in a professional, friendly, and enthusiastic manner. Responsibilities include taking orders, serving drinks and food, managing guest checks, and ensuring compliance with state and local alcohol service regulations, such as verifying identification and monitoring guest alcohol consumption. The Cocktail Waitress is expected to use suggestive selling techniques to enhance the guest experience and increase sales.
In addition to working directly with guests, the Cocktail Waitress maintains opening and closing checklists, handles multiple orders simultaneously, and answers general inquiries, contributing to smooth operations on the casino floor. The role requires physical stamina, as it involves standing for extended periods, carrying trays with beverages weighing up to 30 pounds, and navigating through a busy environment. Flexibility is also essential, given the need to work nights, weekends, and holidays, ensuring the casino’s vibrant atmosphere is always supported by excellent service.
Candidates for this position should have a minimum of a high school diploma and preferably over two years of cocktail serving experience. Strong knowledge of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, excellent communication skills, and the ability to use moderately complex computer systems for order entry are essential qualities. Job Requirements
- High school diploma preferred
- 2+ years of previous experience working as a cocktail server preferred
- Must be able to lift trays of beverage items weighing up to 30 lbs on a regular and continuing basis
- Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours
- Will be required to work a flexible schedule which includes nights, weekends and holidays
- May be required to assist customers in an open, well-ventilated, semi-enclosed terrace where cigarette and cigar smoking is permitted
- Must apply and obtain the appropriate state occupational gaming license, which includes lifetime FBI criminal background check
- Must pass drug testing as per companys Drug Free Workplace Policy and applicable background checks
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Takes orders and serves beverage items to guests in a timely, friendly, enthusiastic and professional manner using suggestive selling techniques
- Serves food to guests
- Ensures that guests are served in accordance to State and local guidelines regarding the service of alcohol, including checking identification
- Determines when a guest has had too much alcohol and contacts the manager on duty or security for assistance
- Is able to take care of several orders at once
- Describes all beverage items, prices and methods of preparation
- Controls guest checks to secure proper payment
- Maintains an opening and closing check list
- Answers general customer inquiries as needed
- All other duties as assigned
