The Server role at JW Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside District entails delivering the highest quality of service to guests with attention, courtesy, and efficiency. This position is hourly and involves being the primary point of contact for guests when taking orders, delivering food and beverages, and managing payment transactions. The server plays an essential role in creating a warm, welcoming environment through effective communication, problem-solving, multitasking, and maintaining professional personal appearance standards. This role contributes directly to the hotel’s reputation for exceptional service and guest satisfaction in a fast-paced, culturally rich setting. Job Requirements

  • Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of employees and guests
  • Must be able to listen to, understand, and clarify concerns
  • Able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines
  • Maintain courteous and service-oriented demeanor with guests and employees
  • Attend all required hotel meetings and trainings
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with hotel standards
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming including wearing proper uniform and nametag
  • Comply with hotel standards and safety regulations
  • Ability to identify problems and assist in implementing solutions
  • Handle problems proactively by anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving issues as necessary
  • Flexible to work long hours when required
  • Capable of exerting up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently or constantly
  • Ability to stand throughout entire shifts
  • Must be able to maneuver carrying full trays of food and beverages throughout the dining area

Job Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in a hotel or related hospitality field preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Capable of maintaining professionalism under pressure
  • Knowledge of customer service best practices

Job Duties

  • Provide high-quality guest service in an attentive, courteous, and efficient manner
