The Cocktail Runner position at Live! Hospitality plays a pivotal role in ensuring seamless service within the bar and lounge areas. This role is integral to the team, supporting bartenders and waitstaff by promptly delivering beverages and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the service stations. Cocktail Runners are expected to uphold the company’s standards for professional appearance and exceptional guest service, adhering to established protocols such as serving drinks to the guest's right with the right hand and using designated glassware appropriately. Candidates must have comprehensive knowledge of the drink menu, including specialty cocktails, wines, beers, and non-alcoholic beverages, to describe offerings accurately and enhance the guest experience.

The role requires excellent communication skills as Cocktail Runners collaborate closely with front-of-house and back-of-house staff, management, and chefs to anticipate and meet guest needs efficiently. They are also responsible for adhering to state alcohol laws and company policies regarding beverage service, including bottle service and cash/payment card procedures. Maintaining cleanliness in the bar and cocktail lounge areas, performing opening and closing duties, and promptly reporting any equipment or furniture damage are also essential responsibilities.

Job Requirements

Handling carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds bar ware carts boxes bottles etc
Must be able to efficiently and safely stand and move about the entire facility during each shift
Ability to bend stoop kneel and lift
Must be at least the legal working age as defined by state law
Must be able to communicate effectively in English
Must be courteous and maintain a professional demeanor

Job Qualifications

At least 1 year of serving in a fast-paced food and beverage venue
Knowledge of liquor brands beer wine champagne non-alcoholic beverages designated glassware preparation methods and garnishments preferred
Must meet state legal age requirements
Must speak fluent English other languages preferred
Must be courteous pleasant and good natured
Strong communication skills for interacting with guests bartender wait staff cooks and supervisors
Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency
May be required to work nights weekends and/or holidays

Job Duties

Maintain professional appearance standards as directed
Anticipate and accommodate all the needs of the guests
Use proper service protocol serving drinks to the guest right using right hand
Carry a tray
Comprehensively describe all drinks specialty cocktails wine and beer
Provide professional and exceptional service
Ensure delivery of all beverages to the guests
Maintain cleanliness of assigned stations and entire venue
Follow supervisor’s instructions communicate with and support co-workers be a team player
Possess in-depth knowledge of all food and beverage menus
Serve all alcoholic beverages in accordance with state regulations and alcohol awareness training standards
Follow company procedures when providing bottle service
Follow proper cash/payment card procedures
Comply with Department of Health and company sanitation standards
Communicate the needs of the guests to Front-of-House and Heart-of-House staff managers and chefs
Properly set-up cocktail lounge/bar and side stations perform side-work and opening/closing procedures as directed
Ensure all lounge furniture is clean and free of debris
Perform opening and closing side-work
Report breakage or damage of equipment or furniture immediately to management
Attend daily pre-shift meetings
Attend training sessions and departmental meetings
Learn by listening observing and sharing knowledge while leading by example
Portray a positive and professional attitude
Demonstrate knowledge of Live! Hospitality and the entirety of the estate
Work as part of a team and provide support to all team members
