The cocktail bartender role is a key position within this lively country music hotspot. As a cocktail bartender, you will be the face of the bar, responsible for greeting guests, taking beverage and food orders, and serving drinks with promptness and professionalism. You will also be tasked with promoting upselling of menu items and beverages, ensuring guests experience not only great drinks but also excellent service.

The job requires a strong understanding of beverage products, including liquor brands, beer, wine, champagne, and non-alcoholic options, along with knowledge of appropriate glassware, preparation techniques, and garnishments. Bartenders must vigilantly verify guest identification to uphold legal drinking age requirements and monitor alcohol consumption to prevent service to intoxicated patrons, prioritizing the safety and compliance of the establishment. This role also involves collaboration and coordination with the kitchen and other departments to ensure seamless service delivery.

Physical stamina is important, as the bartender will stand and move throughout the venue during shifts, handling and lifting items up to 50 pounds such as barware, carts, bottles, and boxes. Flexibility in working nights, weekends, and holidays is required to align with the nightlife nature of the venue. Job Requirements

  • Handling, carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds (bar ware, carts, boxes, bottles, etc.)
  • must be able to efficiently and safely stand and move about the entire facility during each shift
  • bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting
  • must meet state legal age requirements
  • must speak fluent English

Job Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of serving in a fast paced food and beverage venue, preferably nightclub environment
  • knowledge of liquor brands, beer, wine, champagne, non-alcoholic beverages, designated glassware, preparation methods and garnishments preferred
  • must meet state legal age requirements
  • must speak fluent English, other languages preferred
  • must be courteous, pleasant, and good natured
  • strong communication skills for interacting with guests, bartender, wait staff, cooks, and supervisors
  • alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency
  • reading and writing abilities for taking orders and completing paperwork
  • basic math skills for handling cash and credit
  • may be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays

Job Duties

  • Greet all guests and take beverage and food orders in a prompt and professional manner
  • serve cocktails and/or menu items to bar guests and up-sell when taking orders
  • show energy, outgoing personality, and professionalism while providing service with a smile to ensure guest satisfaction
  • communicate effectively and clearly with co-workers, kitchen staff, and guests utilizing the point of sales system
  • communicate with guests clearly, patiently, and with good humor
  • be well-versed in all concept products and menu items to guide the guest experience and sell food and beverage items
  • consistently check guests' identification to ensure legal age requirements for alcohol consumption
  • monitor guest behavior and alcohol consumption to determine when service should cease and notify management of incidents
  • complete all assigned side work
  • accurately account for sales and payments from guests
  • alert management of any service or safety issues and make appropriate service recovery gestures
  • promote teamwork and quality service through communication and coordination with other departments
  • coordinate with bartenders and kitchen for ordering and receipt of food and beverages
