Job Description

Silver Diner Development LLC is a recognized leader in the casual dining segment, known especially for its fresh, locally sourced menu options that appeal to a wide audience, including flexitarians and health-conscious diners. With partnerships established with over 15 local farms that emphasize organic and sustainable agriculture, Silver Diner provides a unique dining experience that bridges the gap between traditional sit-down restaurants and fast food. Their approach to food is innovative and consistent, backed by an award-winning executive chef, Ype Von Hengst. The company has been honored with multiple accolades such as being one of the 'most diverse places to work' according to the Washington Post, listed as one of the '20 full-service restaurants to watch' by Full Service Restaurant Magazine, and recipient of the TDn2K Best Practices Award in 2020 for family dining.

Silver Diner prides itself on putting its people first, cultivating a culture that empowers employees to thrive both professionally and personally. This philosophy is reflected in their industry-leading internal promotion rates, with over 60% of managers and all general managers and area directors having been promoted from within. This isn't just a job—it’s a career path within a vibrant and supportive environment where employees are championed to reach their full potential. Currently, Silver Diner is seeking warm, friendly, and energetic individuals to join their kitchen teams as Line Cooks. This role is ideal for those passionate about hospitality and eager to grow their culinary careers. The position involves preparing visually appealing dishes following recipes created by their award-winning executive chef, offering employees the opportunity to learn various culinary stations and explore global food trends.

The role promises an engaging, fast-paced environment centered around mastery of flavor profiles, food trends, and kitchen techniques. Candidates will participate in a hat development program designed to foster skill growth and advancement opportunities including becoming trainers, supervisors, and managers. Weekend and holiday availability is required to meet the demands of a busy, popular dining establishment. Silver Diner offers comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401K plan, and an Employee Assistance Program, alongside perks like meal discounts and discounts on gym memberships and work footwear. By joining Silver Diner, employees become part of one of the busiest restaurants in the U.S. within a leading conceptual dining brand, dedicated to delivering exceptional guest experiences and fostering career advancement through an inclusive and dynamic work environment. This is an opportunity to be part of a family where hospitality is more than a job—it's a mission to be the best version of themselves.
