The college serves as an educational hub in Central Oregon, offering diverse learning opportunities and fostering a community-oriented environment.

Joining Sodexo as a Cook means becoming part of a company that values you as an individual and prioritizes operating with purpose and impact. This role is ideal for someone passionate about food preparation, with a dedication to excellent customer service and a commitment to team collaboration. The Cook will play an essential role in reducing food waste and delivering delicious baked goods and hot or cold meals, ensuring that every meal is prepared with care and precision.

The position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $20.00 to $22.00. It requires flexibility in scheduling with varying shifts and working hours, emphasizing open availability to meet the needs of the college’s food service operations during breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special catering events. Sodexo supports a positive and flexible work environment, encouraging employees to balance work and life responsibilities effectively.

This role involves following recipes and product instructions accurately while maintaining high standards of food quality and safety. Duties include preparing, portioning, cooking, and presenting a variety of meals efficiently. A Cook may also be responsible for operating a grill station or preparing a la carte items, always focused on providing an outstanding customer experience. Punctuality, reliability, and the ability to adapt to changing business requirements are key qualities Sodexo values in their team members.

Sodexo fosters a culture of inclusion, respect, and equality, embracing diversity as fundamental to a healthy and productive workplace. Employees are encouraged to bring their authentic selves to work, voice their ideas, and contribute to a supportive team environment. Sodexo is an equal opportunity employer committed to providing employment opportunities without discrimination based on race, color, religion, gender identity, age, disability, or other legally protected status.

Sodexo offers a comprehensive benefits package that supports the well-being of employees and their families. Benefits include paid time off, holidays, medical, dental and vision insurance, tuition reimbursement, retirement plans such as 401(k), and employee discount programs. Additional site-specific benefits may include free meals during shifts, uniform provision, safety shoes, and assistance with public transportation or parking. Continuous training and career development opportunities allow employees to grow and advance within the company, transforming a job into a fulfilling career.

Overall, the Cook role at Sodexo within Central Oregon Community College provides an enriching opportunity to impact individuals’ daily lives through thoughtful food preparation and excellent service in a respectful, inclusive workplace.
