The Cook role at Vallarta Supermarkets offers an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and passionate team focused on preparing authentic Mexican and Central American dishes from scratch. The position involves cooking a wide variety of traditional menu items such as guisados, soups, salsas, mole, rice, and beans. Beyond cooking, the role also requires assisting with food preparation, ensuring cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen, and upholding food safety standards. This position is critical in maintaining the high-quality standards Vallarta customers expect and providing friendly, attentive service in the Taqueria department.

As part of the Vallarta family, the Cook will work in a fast-paced environment with direct customer interaction and collaboration with coworkers. The role demands physical endurance, with standing and walking for 6 to 8 hours a day, as well as frequent bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Candidates should be comfortable using kitchen tools and equipment and have a basic understanding of the English language to communicate effectively within the team. Experience in a restaurant kitchen or as a prep helper is preferred but not mandatory. The employer seeks individuals who demonstrate respect, professionalism, and a team-oriented attitude, committed to working flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
