The role of Coating Inspector at CommTech Global carries significant responsibility. This position involves surveilling and evaluating suppliers to ensure all delivered equipment meets the company’s stringent quality standards, regulatory requirements, and specific performance specifications. The Coating Inspector is tasked with traveling extensively on an as-needed basis to conduct onsite inspections, perform document reviews, functional tests, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives. This role is critical in protecting product integrity and maintaining supplier accountability, making it essential for the position to maintain rigorous attention to detail and professional diligence. The Coating Inspector will manage and review supplier corrective requests, monitor and observe coating procedures such as induction times and curing processes, ensure compliance with instrument calibration, and prepare thorough audit reports with photographic evidence to communicate findings to cross-functional teams and suppliers promptly.
Additional responsibilities include reviewing supplier change notifications to assess their impact on internal systems, maintaining detailed audit records, and interfacing directly with suppliers to promote adherence to product compliance. Collaborating with manufacturing and production personnel, the Coating Inspector will support quality metrics monitoring, address non-conforming product issues, and assist in conducting root cause investigations for corrective and preventive actions. This role requires interpreting work instructions and drawings to confirm production and assembly information accurately. The work schedule is flexible and without guaranteed hours, with compensation determined by experience and certifications. Job Requirements
- Ability to work 50+ hours a week
- High School Diploma or GED
- NACE Level 1 certification required
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications and standards
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat Reader DC
- Proven ability to provide visionary strategic leadership and experience guiding the implementation of a strategic plan
- Ability to follow company procedures and manufacturer guidelines
- Basic understanding of electricity and instrumentation
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Self-driven to complete tasks
- Strong commitment to personal and team safety

Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- NACE Level 1 certification
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook

Job Duties
- Manage, review and close supplier corrective requests
- Observe the mixing process and ensure adherence to proper induction time
- Ensure pot life is not exceeded
- Observe instrument calibration reports
- Observe cures for design, fabrication defects and hard to reach areas regarding surface preparation and coatings
- Prepare and complete audit reports with photos
- Communicate audit information to cross functional team and supplier
- Review supplier's change notifications and determine impact on internal systems
- Maintain detailed audit reports and supplier files
- Interface with suppliers to ensure product compliance and perform supplier audits
- Develop measurement techniques for product release at suppliers
- Provide support for the manufacturing areas
- Work with production personnel and supervisors to monitor quality metrics and address non-conforming product issues
- Assist in corrective and preventive action investigations
- Review incoming supplies and products from vendors to check for defects and ensure quality
- Maintain detailed reports on supplier quality including defect rates
- Serve as liaison between senior management, clients and vendors
- Read work instructions and/or drawings to confirm production or assembly information
