Job Description

Vacaville Christian Schools is currently hiring for several coaching positions including Middle School Flag Football Coach, Assistant Middle School Flag Football Coach, High School Quarterback Coach, Middle School Boys Basketball Coach, High School Track Coach (Co-Head Coach position), High School Baseball Coach, and Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach. These temporary roles offer a competitive pay range from $500 to $4,000 per year, depending on the position and experience. Understanding the vital role athletics play in student development, VCS seeks dedicated coaches who can integrate Biblical principles with sportsmanship, leadership, and athletic training.

The coaching roles at Vacaville Christian Schools extend beyond teaching sports techniques. Job Requirements

  • Certified in first-aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and AED training

Job Duties

  • Integrate Biblical principles and the Christian philosophy throughout all sport activities
  • comply with the Statement of Faith, Educational Philosophy and Objectives, the Christian Role Model Expectations, the employee, staff relations, and parent handbooks
  • follow school procedures and policies in administrative and sport-related matters set by the Employer
  • act in varied roles including instructor, assessor, mentor, facilitator, chauffeur, demonstrator, adviser, supporter, fact finder, motivator, counselor, organizer and planner
  • create the right conditions for learning, motivate athletes, and assist them in developing to their full potential
  • train athletes by analyzing performances, instructing in relevant techniques, skills and tactics, and providing encouragement
  • demonstrate knowledge of rules and regulations of the sport coached
  • conduct tryouts and select team members
  • organize training programs, assign positions, and develop drills and game strategies
  • attend every game ready to guide and make necessary decisions during the matches
  • maintain excellent communication with parents and students
  • become proficient in technology resources and applications necessary for coaching
  • keep students, parents and administration informed of progress or deficiencies
  • know and apply procedures for emergency situations ensuring athlete safety
  • inform administration timely if unable to fulfill duties
  • meet teaching requirements if employed in a dual teacher-coach role
