Job Requirements

Subject to pre-employment background check
subject to pre-employment physical, medical evaluation and drug screen
successfully complete and maintain required safety certification and testing annually
ability to walk on uneven surfaces
regularly lift weights up to 20 pounds to waist height
work in confined spaces with width of 24 inches
adapt to various temperature extremes including heat, cold, moisture and wind
tolerate repetitive movements such as bending and overhead reaching
regularly ascend/descend platform height of up to 12 inches
occasionally ascend/descend ladder
regularly ascend/descend stairs
frequently bend, crouch, stand and sit for extended time
be aware of surroundings and follow verbal commands
exposure to various chemical cleaners daily
pass color/vision examinations
able to hear and distinguish auditory signals

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
successful completion of training and certifications applicable to the job
preferred cleaning experience
some computer skills preferred
ability to read, write and communicate proficiently

Job Duties

Clean interior and exterior of passenger rail cars and locomotives
perform daily cleaning tasks on cars and weekly cleaning in locomotive cabs
collect and remove trash in cars
clean windows, seats, tables, doors and panels
scrub walls with brushes and cleaning solution
clean and polish stainless steel handrails and trim
clean and sanitize restroom appliances including toilet, vanity, mirror, sink and walls
mop floors and vacuum carpeting
clean offices, restrooms, lunchroom and locker rooms weekly
restock supplies such as toilet paper, hand soap, paper towels and cleaning carts
distribute seat pamphlets periodically
perform all duties in conformance to safety and security standards
follow instructions furnished in written and oral form
complete tasks within specified time-period
report to work on time
work flexible shifts, schedules and overtime
understand and implement posted work rules and company procedures
engage and promote company culture and behaviors
maintain regular and predictable attendance and punctuality
perform other duties as assigned
