CNP Assistant Manager

Baldwin County Schools is seeking a dedicated Child Nutrition Program Assistant Manager to join their team and support the program's effective and efficient operation. This is a nine-month, non-exempt position that follows the Board's salary schedule and requires a commitment to the school system's goals and priorities. The Assistant Manager will report to the School Principal and the Child Nutrition Program Manager and will supervise CNP workers as assigned.

The role of Child Nutrition Program Assistant Manager is vital in planning, directing, monitoring, and overseeing local school nutrition services. This position demands strong leadership to supervise, develop, and evaluate nutrition personnel and staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality food services aligned with educational programs and student achievement. The Assistant Manager works collaboratively with school administrators and nutrition staff to maintain food safety, manage daily meal operations, and ensure compliance with Child Nutrition Program guidelines and regulations. Responsibilities include assisting in food preparation, managing inventories, ordering supplies, maintaining equipment, and upholding sanitation and safety standards in all food service areas. The Assistant Manager must also be able to fill in for the CNP Manager when necessary and assist in staff training and development to promote professional growth and adherence to best practices. This role requires excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with students, staff, parents, and community members, helping interpret and promote the goals of the school food service program. Physical stamina is necessary due to the demands of the job, including prolonged standing, lifting, and other physical activities. Finally, the role requires punctuality, reliability, and a willingness to work outside regular hours when needed to support successful nutrition service delivery within Baldwin County Schools.
