Baldwin County Schools is a respected educational institution committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for students, staff, and the broader community. The school district is dedicated to providing quality education and related services that contribute to student achievement and well-being. One of the essential services within Baldwin County Schools is the Child Nutrition Program (CNP), which plays a crucial role in ensuring that students receive nutritious and healthy meals conducive to learning and growth. The program adheres to strict guidelines and regulations, including those established by federal and state authorities, to maintain high standards of food safety and quality. Baldwin County Schools is seeking a dedicated Child Nutrition Program Assistant Manager to join their team and support the program's effective and efficient operation. This is a nine-month, non-exempt position that follows the Board's salary schedule and requires a commitment to the school system's goals and priorities. The Assistant Manager will report to the School Principal and the Child Nutrition Program Manager and will supervise CNP workers as assigned.
The role of Child Nutrition Program Assistant Manager is vital in planning, directing, monitoring, and overseeing local school nutrition services. This position demands strong leadership to supervise, develop, and evaluate nutrition personnel and staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality food services aligned with educational programs and student achievement. Responsibilities include assisting in food preparation, managing inventories, ordering supplies, maintaining equipment, and upholding sanitation and safety standards in all food service areas. The Assistant Manager must also be able to fill in for the CNP Manager when necessary and assist in staff training and development to promote professional growth and adherence to best practices. This role requires excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with students, staff, parents, and community members, helping interpret and promote the goals of the school food service program. Physical stamina is necessary due to the demands of the job, including prolonged standing, lifting, and other physical activities. Finally, the role requires punctuality, reliability, and a willingness to work outside regular hours when needed to support successful nutrition service delivery within Baldwin County Schools.
