Job Description
Pomperaug Woods is a distinguished senior living community located in Southbury, Connecticut, renowned for its exceptional care, warm ambiance, and commitment to enriching the lives of its residents. Set in a charming and welcoming environment, Pomperaug Woods offers a blend of personal attention and professional healthcare services tailored to seniors. This establishment prides itself on fostering a community where residents feel valued, comfortable, and safe, and where staff members thrive in an environment that emphasizes respect, kindness, and collaboration. The culture at Pomperaug Woods is deeply rooted in hospitality, ensuring that every individual—whether resident, employee, or visitor—is greeted warmly, treated with utmost respect, and supported attentively. The organization is dedicated to creating a homelike atmosphere that promotes dignity and independence for its residents, while offering career growth and learning opportunities for the staff.
Currently, Pomperaug Woods is seeking a hospitality-focused Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join its committed team. This role is open for both part-time (11 p.m. to 7 a.m.) and full-time shifts (6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.), providing flexibility to candidates. The selected CNA will play a pivotal role in delivering personalized care that aligns with each resident's individualized plan of care, adhering strictly to the community’s policies and procedures. The CNA is more than a caregiver; they are a vital part of the residents’ daily lives, supporting their physical needs such as dressing, grooming, feeding, bathing, positioning, and assisting with treatments, tests, and specimen collections as instructed. Attention to detail is critical, including prompt responsiveness to signal lights, maintaining room cleanliness, and ensuring that residents’ comfort and dignity are upheld at all times. This position requires compassionate interaction, as CNAs escort residents, assist with meals under the Resident Centered CARES Dining Service program, and provide range of motion and skin inspections to promote health and wellbeing. Pomperaug Woods uniquely fosters a workplace culture where employees work alongside domestic animals like dogs, cats, and birds, reflecting the homelike environment they nurture.
The CNA role at Pomperaug Woods is instrumental in modeling the community’s core values and hospitality philosophy. Employees greet everyone by name with a smile, act proactively to meet needs, listen attentively, uphold accountability, value diversity, and maintain professional conduct throughout their duties. The company invests in the future of senior living by investing in its people, encouraging CNAs to not just perform their tasks but to be part of an extraordinary life journey. This position is perfect for individuals passionate about elder care and hospitality who seek a supportive workplace that respects and rewards dedication, empathy, and excellence in caregiving.
