The position involves working on diverse structural investigation projects related to both existing and new construction sites. As a part of this role, you will conduct a variety of materials testing—including destructive and non-destructive methods—on masonry, concrete, and other construction materials. These tests are essential to ensure that structures meet safety standards, perform as intended, and comply with relevant codes and regulations. Your contributions will span forensic investigations and quality control efforts, helping to support critical evaluations on high-impact projects.

Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED required
associate’s degree preferred
1-year minimum experience preferred but not required
valid Driver’s License upon hire required
ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 70 pounds on a regular basis
availability to travel approximately 10% of the time
ability to work under pressure and multitask
demonstrated excellent communication skills
proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam
ability to follow written and verbal instructions
basic awareness of problem solving and decision-making
ability to accomplish work within required short, long, and emergency timelines

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required

ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician Grade I preferred but not required
ability to prepare timely and accurate reports and documentation of field activities and testing results
proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam

Job Duties

Perform field materials testing on masonry and concrete and other construction materials in accordance with training and specified procedures
perform pre-task planning prior to executing work
be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects
perform laboratory tests on concrete and CMU when required to support project objectives
read and interpret construction specifications and drawings and follow operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
perform simple analysis or calculations to check accuracy, applicability and reasonableness of test data
work collaboratively with managers and other staff to ensure safety protocols are followed
clean, calibrate, maintain, and store testing equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results
maintain equipment in good working order and adhere to related calibration and storage
complete other tasks as assigned
