In this position, you'll be responsible for setting up workstations, preparing ingredients through measuring, chopping, trimming, and peeling, and skillfully using utensils and kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, mixers, and slicers. You will apply various cooking methods including baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming to prepare meat, vegetables, and other food items. Attention to detail is essential as you'll arrange, garnish, and portion food in accordance with established guidelines to maintain presentation quality. Maintaining a clean and sanitized work area is crucial, along with adhering to Aramark's food safety policies. Your role also involves engaging positively with customers, coworkers, and clients, ensuring both excellent customer service and a cooperative team environment. The position may require physical stamina as you might need to lift, bend, push, pull, and stand for extended periods. Use of personal protective equipment and uniforms will be required to meet safety standards.

Job Requirements

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role required
  • Validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations including accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
  • Ability to acquire food safety certification
  • Basic math and counting skills
  • Interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to lift, bend, push, pull and/or stand for extended periods
  • Willingness to wear uniforms and/or personal protective equipment (PPE)

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Cooks and prepares a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • Sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
  • Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
  • Safely uses a variety of utensils including knives
  • Operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
  • Bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
  • Arranges, garnishes, and portions food according to established guidelines
  • Properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
  • Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • Maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
  • Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
  • Ensures security of company assets
