Job Description
The Ritz-Carlton, located at 900 SW Washington St, Portland, Oregon, is a part of Marriott International and represents a prestigious and globally recognized luxury hotel brand. Known for setting the standards in exceptional luxury service and hospitality, The Ritz-Carlton prides itself on creating memorable guest experiences that extend well beyond their stay. With over 100 award-winning hotels worldwide, the establishment focuses on fostering an inclusive work environment that celebrates diversity and empowers its associates to be creative, kind, and compassionate. Their commitment to equal opportunity hiring ensures a welcoming and accessible workplace for all potential employees.
This full-time, non-management position falls under the Rooms and Guest Services Operations category and involves working onsite at the Portland location. The role requires open availability, emphasizing a dynamic work schedule to effectively meet the needs of guests at any time. Working as a member of The Ritz-Carlton team means upholding the renowned 'Gold Standards' that serve as the foundation for excellent service and continuous improvement in customer care and comfort.
In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing seat availability, service quality, guest security, and welfare in the club lounge. This includes maintaining cleanliness and good condition of bar furniture, tables, and related instruments; preparing and serving hot, cold, and alcoholic beverages; and ensuring the adequate stocking of ice, glassware, and supplies. The role also involves anticipating supply needs and communicating resupply requirements immediately, washing dishes and utensils, completing opening and closing duties, securing liquor and other stored items, and keeping accurate departmental records. Additional responsibilities include relaying special food requests to the kitchen, reporting accidents and unsafe working conditions to management, adhering strictly to company policies and procedures, and maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor.
Further, this position emphasizes delivering exceptional guest experiences by recognizing and anticipating guest needs, assisting guests with disabilities, and showing genuine appreciation for their patronage. Communication skills are essential, including clear and professional verbal interaction, accurate documentation, and proper telephone etiquette. Teamwork and a supportive attitude toward achieving common goals are also vital. Physical demands include moving, lifting, pushing, pulling, and positioning objects up to 25 pounds and standing or walking for prolonged periods or throughout the entire work shift.
Education-wise, a high school diploma or equivalent GED is required, while no prior related work or supervisory experience is necessary. This opportunity provides a chance to join a globally respected hotel brand, develop your professional skills, and contribute to outstanding hospitality service. The company offers a promising career path for motivated individuals eager to work in a high-standard, supportive, and diverse environment. Joining The Ritz-Carlton means becoming part of Marriott International's impressive portfolio of brands, enabling one to perform at their best, serve with purpose, and grow into their best professional self.
