This job opening is for a part-time non-management position within the Rooms & Guest Services Operations category, located at 301 E North Water St, Chicago, Illinois. The hourly pay is competitive at $25.79. The role involves controlling seat availability and service quality in the club lounge, maintaining cleanliness and order at the bar area, and preparing and serving a variety of drink options including hot, cold, and alcoholic beverages. The position demands vigilance in ensuring guest safety and well-being, as well as anticipating and communicating the need for supply replenishment promptly. Additional duties consist of washing dishes and kitchen utensils as needed, completing opening and closing tasks, and transporting necessary supplies from storage to the bar area. The role demands adherence to company policies, maintaining professional appearance and confidentiality of information, and protecting the company's assets. Interaction with guests is a vital component, requiring employees to greet guests warmly, anticipate and meet their service needs, assist persons with disabilities, and express genuine appreciation. Clear and professional communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential as the role involves telephone handling and document preparation. The successful candidate will foster positive workplace relationships and collaborate with the team to achieve common objectives while upholding quality standards.
Physically, the job requires the ability to move, lift, push, and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds, stand or walk for extended periods, and be capable of performing various other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors. Open availability is preferred, emphasizing flexibility in scheduling to meet the dynamic needs of the hospitality environment.
Educationally, a high school diploma or GED certificate is desired, though no prior related work experience or supervisory experience is necessary. No licenses or certifications are required for this position. Marriott International is committed to equal employment opportunities, welcoming applicants from diverse backgrounds and ensuring accommodations for disabilities and other protected statuses.
