Job Description

Delaware North Sportservice, a division of Delaware North, is a prominent hospitality and food service company operating at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. Nationwide Arena is a premier 18,500-seat sports and entertainment venue that serves as the home to the NHL's Columbus Blue Jackets and hosts various concerts and events throughout the year. Since 2000, Delaware North has been entrusted with managing concessions, premium dining, and retail services within the arena. Their offerings include traditional arena fare such as hot dogs, pretzels, and popcorn as well as a variety of beers from local Ohio breweries, creating a unique and vibrant food experience for guests at the venue.

As a company with over a century of experience, Delaware North is family-owned and values its team members as part of a global legacy. They operate in various sectors including sports, gaming, national parks, and hospitality across the world. This wide footprint allows employees to find numerous paths for professional growth and career advancement. Delaware North prides itself on giving people great times in great places, promoting a positive work culture focused on development, inclusiveness, and community. Their commitment to diversity and equal opportunity employment supports a respectful and supportive working environment free from discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, or any other protected status.

The role available is that of a part-time Food Runner at Nationwide Arena. This position is an integral part of the guest service team, responsible for expediting food orders from the kitchen to guests efficiently and accurately. The position offers an hourly wage of $15.00, plus tip earnings, making it an attractive opportunity for individuals looking for flexible, part-time work in a fast-paced hospitality environment. Food Runners receive initial training and ongoing mentorship, emphasizing skills development and career progression within Delaware North. The role’s core responsibility involves collaborating closely with kitchen staff, servers, and chefs to ensure timely meal presentation and delivery, along with maintaining the cleanliness and organization of kitchen and suite areas.

Food Runners at Delaware North are required to have knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods to assist guests accurately and improve their overall dining experience. This job also demands physical stamina — standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 35 pounds frequently — suitable for individuals who thrive in active environments. The schedule is flexible but necessitates availability during evenings, weekends, and events to support the dynamic operational needs of Nationwide Arena. With access to competitive pay, plus benefits such as health, dental, vision, 401(k) with matching, paid vacations, parental leave, and education reimbursements for eligible employees, this role offers a comprehensive employment package.
