The Cloud Engineer - Database role at Subway is a critical position responsible for managing and optimizing the company’s cloud database platforms spanning AWS and Azure environments. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced database administrator or cloud engineer with a strong background in Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL Database, and Terraform. The Cloud Engineer will provision and configure cloud database services, implement high-availability strategies, conduct performance tuning, and enforce stringent security standards across Subway’s data infrastructure. The role also involves creating and maintaining documentation, runbooks, and collaborating on schema designs and capacity planning. Additionally, the engineer will be responsible for exploring emerging cloud database technologies and integrating AI/ML tools to optimize performance and detect anomalies, positioning Subway at the forefront of cloud database innovation.
