Job Description
TEKsystems, a leading global provider of business and technology services, is seeking a hands-on Cloud & Platform Architect with a focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to join their team in Orlando, FL. TEKsystems is known for its partnership-driven approach to transformation, supporting over 6,000 clients including 80 percent of the Fortune 500 across North America, Europe, and Asia. With a workforce of 80,000 professionals, TEKsystems combines strategy, design, execution, and operational expertise to deliver real-world technology solutions that drive business value. As a division of Allegis Group, the company is committed to creating inclusive workplaces and considers all applications without discrimination.
This Cloud & Platform Architect role is a contract-to-hire position based onsite in Orlando, FL, offering a competitive pay rate of $95 to $105 per hour. The primary responsibility of this role is to serve as the technical and architectural leader as the organization transitions from AWS to Google Cloud Platform over the next two years due to the expiration of AWS licensing. The architect will own and mature the cloud and hybrid infrastructure environments, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and cost-effective. This position demands a hands-on engineering approach, balancing architecture oversight with implementation duties.
The Cloud & Platform Architect will lead the migration project from AWS to GCP, acting as the main architect for all cloud and platform infrastructure across GCP (primary), legacy AWS, and limited Azure environments. Responsibilities include overseeing cloud networking, DNS, certificates, hybrid connectivity, identity and access management including SSO and role-based access control, as well as operational readiness such as monitoring and patching. This role will collaborate closely with multiple teams including networking, cybersecurity, data and analytics, and managed service providers, while facilitating CI/CD and automation practices through GitHub Enterprise.
Ideal candidates will bring deep expertise designing, operating, and optimizing GCP cloud infrastructure with strong knowledge of hybrid cloud and networking components including VPNs, routing, and DNS. Experience in managing cloud cost governance and optimization is critical, along with strong communication skills to lead change and work cross-functionally. A demonstrated history of balancing hands-on engineering with architectural leadership is essential for success in this role.
The position requires a minimum of eight years’ experience in infrastructure, platform, or cloud engineering, including four or more years in senior cloud or architecture roles. Proficiency in hybrid environments, Windows Server and SQL Server platforms, infrastructure automation scripting primarily in PowerShell and Python, and experience with CI/CD pipelines is valued. Candidates must be able to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment, showing proactive problem-solving abilities and supporting innovation and AI-driven initiatives.
This opportunity offers comprehensive benefits for eligible candidates, including medical, dental, vision coverage, life insurance options, disability benefits, retirement plans, health spending accounts, transportation benefits, and paid time off. The role emphasizes a hands-on, collaborative culture that values autonomy with a focus on delivering impactful cloud architecture solutions. TEKsystems maintains a strong commitment to equal employment opportunity and a safe, diverse, and inclusive workplace.
