Job Description
This job opportunity is offered by a restaurant that is independently owned and operated by a franchisee, separate from McDonald's USA. The franchisee holds a license to use McDonald's logos and food products, allowing them to run the restaurant under the McDonald's brand name, but remains a distinct company and employer responsible for all employment matters. This means that if you are hired for this position, your employer will be the independent franchisee, not McDonald's USA. The franchisee handles all aspects related to hiring, firing, employee discipline, supervision, staffing, and scheduling. McDonald's USA does not control employment decisions or have access to job applications, ensuring that all employment processes are managed solely by the franchise operator.
The role available is to join the closing crew team, focusing primarily on evening hours that usually start around 5pm and may extend as late as 3am, depending on the restaurant location and the day of the week. This position is ideal for individuals seeking part-time or evening work that fits into their lifestyle or other commitments. Applicants must be at least 18 years old to qualify for this position.
The starting pay for this role is competitive at $20 per hour, with the opportunity to earn up to $21 per hour based on experience and performance. Joining the team offers more than just wages; employees can benefit from a range of programs designed to support both personal and professional growth. The franchisee values their employees and offers access to individual retirement accounts (IRA) through payroll deductions, financial assistance for college textbooks up to $150 per semester (subject to passing classes), and service award gifts every five years to recognize long-term dedication.
Employees also receive free uniforms and safety shoes, as well as a complimentary meal for each shift they work, enhancing their overall job satisfaction. The company supports educational advancement through the Archways to Opportunity program, which provides college tuition assistance up to $2,500 per year, helping crew members pursue higher education and achieve their academic goals. Staff members can also take advantage of mcdperks.com, a platform offering thousands of discounts online, further enriching their working experience.
The organization prides itself on flexible scheduling and maintains an open-door policy to foster a supportive and inclusive work environment. Working at this franchise-operated McDonald's means being part of a team committed to learning, growth, and success. Their industry-leading education and training programs empower employees to develop valuable skills that can help them succeed not only within the McDonald's system but also in their broader career paths. More than 80% of employees are proud to work at McDonald's and would recommend it as a workplace, highlighting its positive culture and opportunities.
A crew team member at this McDonald's location is involved in various tasks geared towards delivering an exceptional customer experience and maintaining an efficient, welcoming environment. The job goes beyond serving food; it is an opportunity to build life skills, improve teamwork and communication, and grow as an individual. Whether you are seeking your first job or looking to advance your career, this position offers a foundation to succeed and the chance to be part of America's best first job tradition.
