Job Description

The hiring establishment is a reputable hotel known for its commitment to providing exceptional guest experiences and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and comfort. This hospitality company prides itself on delivering a welcoming atmosphere, ensuring that every guest enjoys a pleasant and memorable stay. With a professional team supporting various services, the hotel continuously strives to uphold its reputation for quality service and guest satisfaction. It operates in a dynamic setting where attention to detail and responsiveness to guest needs are essential components of the business model. This establishment not only caters to guests’ basic needs but also emphasizes excellence in room hygiene and customer service, positioning itself as a leader within the hospitality industry.

The role offered is for a Housekeeper with responsibilities centered on cleaning guest rooms, providing turn-down services, and supporting lobby attendants. This full-time position focuses heavily on maintaining the cleanliness and overall presentation of guest accommodations to ensure the highest levels of guest satisfaction. The Housekeeper will be tasked with replenishing room amenities, linens, and supplies, as well as assisting guests by promptly responding to their requests through cooperative work with other hotel staff. The position also includes physical responsibilities such as lifting, carrying, and moving heavy objects up to 50 pounds, as well as thorough cleaning that involves the use of various cleaning agents and equipment. This job not only demands physical stamina but also attention to detail, a strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key aspects of the role include providing nightly turn-down service, which involves preparing rooms for guests’ comfort by partially removing bedspreads and refilling ice buckets. The Housekeeper will clean all surfaces including bathtubs, toilets, sinks, walls, mirrors, tiles, and counters, ensuring all areas of the room meet sanitation standards. Additional duties include stripping and making beds with fresh linens, dusting furniture and fixtures, vacuuming floors, and emptying trash receptacles. The Housekeeper will also be responsible for managing room keys, restocking heavy carts, visually inspecting rooms to confirm cleanliness, and assisting with the delivery of guest items alongside Lobby Attendants. Such tasks require excellent organizational skills and the commitment to uphold the hotel’s quality standards.

This position reports directly to the Director of Housekeeping, Assistant Director of Housekeeping, Housekeeping Manager, and Housekeeping Supervisor, maintaining important internal communications to coordinate efforts and manage workload efficiently. Externally, the Housekeeper interacts regularly with hotel guests and other housekeeping associates, reinforcing the hotel’s standards of guest service and cooperation among staff members.

Candidates for this role do not necessarily need prior housekeeping experience, as the hotel provides training; however, previous experience is preferred. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferable but not mandatory. The position requires physical abilities such as lifting up to 50 pounds and frequent carrying of loads weighing up to 25 pounds. The Housekeeper will also need to be capable of walking or standing for significant periods, as well as having the ability to reach, handle, see, hear, talk, and feel as part of their job functions.

This hotel is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion, proudly maintaining a drug-free workplace and conducting pre-employment substance testing. This commitment ensures a safe and professional work environment for all employees.
