The role of the Door Person is pivotal in shaping the initial and final impressions guests have of the hotel. The individual in this position serves as the welcoming face at the entrance, responsible for opening doors to guests, assisting with luggage handling, and ensuring a smooth and inviting flow of traffic both inside and outside the hotel. Beyond these primary responsibilities, the Door Person acts as a Front Door Concierge when required, bridging seamless communication between guests and the various hotel departments. The role demands an exceptional level of guest interaction, including escorting guests to their rooms or other destinations within the property, providing guestroom and hotel tours, and responding promptly and professionally to requests such as retrieving tickets or special items. A key duty also involves maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the entrance area, including ensuring that bell carts, carpets, and supplies are properly aligned at all times.
This role is ideal for an individual who is physically capable of managing luggage weighing up to 50 pounds and is diligent in security practices, particularly in safeguarding guestroom access. The Door Person must also display excellent interpersonal skills and clear communication abilities in English, enabling them to understand and fulfill guest needs effectively. With an eye for detail and the ability to multitask efficiently, the Door Person supports both the Front Office and Bell Desk teams to uphold the hotel’s esteemed reputation. They will frequently assist guests in calling taxis or shared rides and remain vigilant in helping locate lost luggage. This position requires standing or walking for extended periods and the capability to handle physical tasks with professionalism and enthusiasm. Ultimately, the Door Person contributes significantly to delivering superior customer service aligned with the hotel’s luxury standards, thereby ensuring every guest departs with a memorable and positive experience.

Job Requirements
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience working in a 5-star hotel environment
- A minimum of 1 year of Front Office, Door or Bell experience
- Ability to exert physical effort in placing, removing and transporting guest luggage
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays and evenings
- Ability to understand and fulfill guest needs
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
- Willingness to maintain security of guestroom access
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Maintain professionalism and courtesy at all times

Job Duties
- Initiate contact with guests entering and departing the hotel while opening and closing doors
- Assist Front Office Colleagues with guest check in, requests and services including retrieval of theatre tickets and flowers
- Ensure guest satisfaction in accordance with Forbes and Five Star standards
- Assist the Bell Desk in the ground lobby and perform job functions with minimal supervision
- Assist guests with luggage handling and delivery including baggage checks
- Manage street traffic flow outside the resort and assist guests with car doors
- Provide guestroom and hotel tours
- Collect and record guest preferences
- Maintain entrance cleanliness and ensure supplies and equipment are properly aligned
- Remain in assigned post position maintaining correct stance
- Assist guests in locating and retrieving lost luggage
- Assist guests in getting taxis and shared rides
- Work flexible hours including weekends, holidays and evenings
- Exert physical effort in placing, removing and transporting guest luggage
- Remove luggage from guest rooms upon check out if needed
- Answer department telephone with correct etiquette
- Ensure security of guestroom access
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
