Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Preferably one year of work experience, preferably in a medical office setting
  • Knowledge of medical terminology desirable
  • Ability to operate computer and office equipment
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with patients, staff and physicians
  • Capacity to handle stressful and interruptive work environment
  • Vision correctable to 20/20
  • Normal hearing range for telephone contact
  • Ability to sit for long periods and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
  • Manual dexterity for keyboard operation

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Facilitates communication between patients, staff and physicians
  • Schedules hospital outpatient procedures and admissions in a timely and efficient manner
  • Operates office equipment including computers, telephones, copiers and calculators
  • Maintains accurate patient information by typing and filing records
  • Answers telephone inquiries in a pleasant and helpful manner
  • Follows oral and written instructions accurately
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with patients, employees, supervisors, physicians and the public
