Job Description
LLUMC-Murrieta is a reputable healthcare organization committed to delivering high-quality patient care across various specialties. The institution is well-regarded for fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment that emphasizes professional development, innovation, and patient-centered care. Its approach revolves around a comprehensive Professional Practice Model, specifically integrating Duffy's Quality Caring Theory to ensure nursing excellence and compassionate care in every aspect of its services. LLUMC-Murrieta serves a culturally diverse population, ensuring inclusivity and respect in healthcare delivery. The Medical Telemetry and Oncology Unit, where this position is located, is a vital part of the hospital that specializes in caring for patients with complex medical and oncologic needs, often requiring close monitoring and skilled nursing interventions.
This full-time, night shift Clinical Nurse B role within the Med Tele/Onc Unit offers an opportunity for motivated and experienced nurses to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic hospital setting. Eligible candidates may receive a $9,000 sign-on bonus, underscoring the organization's commitment to attracting dedicated nursing professionals. The Clinical Nurse B-Inpatient takes on an essential role in coordinating and delivering high-quality direct and indirect care that is age-specific and developmentally appropriate. The role demands independent judgment and discretion as nurses perform comprehensive nursing processes including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of patient care. Working with minimal supervision, nurses apply theoretical knowledge to clinical practices and continuously seek to upgrade their skills and knowledge, particularly in the specialized area of medical telemetry and oncology patient care.
The Clinical Nurse B functions in a skills-mix environment, effectively supervising and delegating tasks to both licensed and unlicensed staff to maintain the highest standards of patient safety and care efficacy. Professionalism and excellence in patient and customer service are emphasized throughout the role. Nurses are expected to cultivate a work environment characterized by caring and cooperation, especially within a culturally diverse workforce and patient base. Opportunities for career advancement exist through a structured Clinical Nurse Ladder program, with eligibility for promotion to CN-C classification upon meeting specific criteria.
Additional responsibilities include potential participation in on-call rotations based on departmental needs and the possibility to serve as a Shift Coordinator after completing the appropriate orientation. This position not only requires technical and clinical expertise but also excellent interpersonal communication and leadership abilities. Nurses must demonstrate competency in critical thinking, problem-solving, prioritization, and multitasking in a fast-paced hospital atmosphere. Proficiency in using computers and healthcare software such as electronic medical records, event reporting programs, and common office applications like Word, Excel, and Outlook is essential for documentation and communication.
Moreover, the Clinical Nurse B role prioritizes compliance with healthcare regulations and accreditation standards, maintaining a professional demeanor in all situations, including high-pressure environments. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are required, with bilingual capabilities in Spanish preferred but not mandatory. Maintaining multiple certifications and licensures such as an active California RN license and American Heart Association BLS certification are mandatory, with additional certifications required as per unit-specific care plans.
Overall, this position is designed for licensed nurses with at least one year of clinical experience who are eager to grow professionally and deliver patient-centered nursing care within a supportive and innovative healthcare setting. LLUMC-Murrieta recognizes the importance of continuous education and skill enhancement, encouraging nurses to embrace new knowledge and apply it practically while fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
