Job Description

Intermountain Health is a comprehensive healthcare system renowned for its commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care across multiple specialties. Its facilities, including Good Samaritan Hospital located in Lafayette, Colorado, offer advanced medical services, leveraging a multidisciplinary approach to health and wellness. Intermountain Health focuses not only on delivering excellent clinical outcomes but also on fostering a culture of compassion, respect, and continuous improvement for patients, families, and employees alike. The organization prioritizes employee well-being, ensuring a supportive environment that encourages professional growth and work-life balance through competitive compensation and an extensive benefits package.

The Clinical Mental Health Professional position at Good Samaritan Hospital plays a critical role within Intermountain Health’s behavioral health services. This full-time role, with scheduled weekly hours of 36, operates Thursday through Saturday during night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. The hourly wage ranges from $35.60 to $54.93, depending on the candidate’s experience and qualifications. This role centers on utilizing clinical expertise to perform psychosocial assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, and provide crisis intervention and referrals. The professional collaborates extensively with patients, their families, healthcare providers, insurers, and community resources to facilitate holistic and continuous care.

The role demands a keen ability to diagnose and treat mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders while modifying care plans as patient status evolves. Referring patients to community services, support groups, psychiatrists, or other specialized providers forms a core part of ensuring patient well-being beyond hospital care. The Clinical Mental Health Professional contributes to discharge planning alongside multidisciplinary teams to secure seamless care transitions. Organizational skills are paramount as the incumbent must prioritize daily responsibilities that balance new patient assessments, ongoing care needs, and discharge processes.

Further, this role performs crucial behavioral health consultations for both patients and their caregivers, including supportive, crisis, and bereavement interventions. Effective communication with internal care teams and external agencies ensures timely intervention and quality outcomes. This position may also involve supporting staff through debriefing sessions in partnership with the Employee Assistance Program after adverse events, emphasizing the role’s holistic impact on both patient and employee wellness.

The Clinical Mental Health Professional at Intermountain is expected to function within rigorous credentialing standards, ensuring compliance with medical staff office and peer review protocols. The position emphasizes the integration of evidence-based behavioral health interventions, patient care coordination, and community-based service linkage. Candidates must be prepared for physical demands such as frequent communication, manual dexterity for documentation and equipment use, patient mobility assistance, and working within often crowded clinical environments.

Joining Intermountain Health means becoming part of a forward-thinking healthcare network that invests in its caregivers' mind, body, and spirit. The organization is committed to equitable employment practices and utilizes advanced AI tools in its recruiting process to enhance fairness and efficiency. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to impact patient lives meaningfully while benefiting from a supportive professional environment and comprehensive wellness programs.
