As part of the Desert Care Network, which also includes JFK Memorial Hospital in Indio and Hi-Desert Medical Center in Joshua Tree, this hospital offers comprehensive and advanced medical services. These include a Level 1 Trauma Center, comprehensive stroke care, a cancer center, and the only Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in the Coachella Valley. The medical center prides itself on delivering excellent patient care while fostering a supportive environment for healthcare professionals. The hospital is committed to healthcare equality and continuous improvement to meet the evolving needs of its patients and community. Desert Regional Medical Center is recognized for its innovative approach to medicine and its collaborative team atmosphere that emphasizes patient-centered care and professional development.

The Clinical Manager role at Desert Regional Medical Center is a pivotal leadership position responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Emergency Department. This full-time position operates on a rotating shift schedule and requires a dynamic individual who can manage human resources effectively at the unit level, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to budgetary considerations. The Clinical Manager acts as a key liaison between patients, staff, physicians, and administration, swiftly addressing complaints and concerns while maintaining a high standard of operational excellence.

The Clinical Manager’s responsibilities encompass a wide range of duties including staff evaluation, counseling, hiring, performance management, and compliance monitoring. This role demands a thorough understanding of clinical practices specific to emergency and trauma care, with an emphasis on growth, development, and patient treatment across different age groups. The Clinical Manager also plays a vital role in facilitating staff education through orientation and continuing education programs while ensuring that employees meet competency requirements and licensure standards.

In addition to human resource management, the Clinical Manager is actively involved in operational oversight including staffing optimization, scheduling, supply cost control, and adherence to labor hour benchmarks. The role requires strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and the ability to foster teamwork within the department and across the hospital. Strategic planning and performance improvement initiatives are integral components of this position, aimed at enhancing patient care quality and departmental efficiency.

Desert Regional Medical Center offers a highly competitive hourly wage between $51.18 and $81.91, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
