Labcorp is currently seeking a Clinical Lab Professional to join the esteemed team at Ascension St. Vincent's Clay County in Middleburg, Florida. This is a third-shift position that offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus exclusively for external candidates. The role involves working in a high-volume, production-based clinical lab environment where precision, attention to detail, and technical proficiency are essential. The Clinical Lab Professional is responsible for executing a wide range of lab testing procedures, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established standards, and maintaining the functionality and safety of lab instruments and workspaces. This position requires technical problem-solving skills and the ability to independently make decisions regarding testing and quality controls.

The Clinical Lab Professional will determine specimen acceptability for testing based on stringent criteria and perform both routine and complex technical procedures following departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This role also involves monitoring, troubleshooting, and operating laboratory instruments to maintain optimal performance. Preparing and evaluating new reagents and controls is part of the job duties, alongside accurately reporting test results that directly impact patient care. Preventive maintenance, quality control documentation, supply management, and assistance with specimen processing are also key components of the daily responsibilities. Maintaining a safe work environment with appropriate personal protective equipment is mandatory to ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Candidates considered for this role should have a bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology, along with a minimum of one year of clinical laboratory testing experience or an MLS degree. A valid Florida Medical Technologist (MT) License is required. Preferred qualifications include certification from the ASCP or AMT. Additional job standards include the ability to work independently and within a team, familiarity with laboratory information systems, computer proficiency, excellent communication and organizational skills, and the capability to pass a standardized color blindness test. Flexibility to work overtime or alternate shifts according to business needs is also essential.
