CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital - New Braunfels (CSRH-NB) is a premier full-service healthcare facility located in the vibrant heart of downtown New Braunfels, Texas. This full-time Nurse Manager position is a leadership role responsible for managing nursing services and staff within a specific department of the hospital. The Nurse Manager ensures that all nursing functions comply with internal policies and external regulatory standards, while fostering a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement. This role demands a strong leader who can develop and monitor programs focused on delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality nursing care to patients and their families. The Nurse Manager plays a key part in monitoring patient outcomes and the effectiveness of nursing care, while overseeing team performance and identifying opportunities for staff development and training. They act as a liaison among medical staff, department heads, and hospital administrators ensuring that nursing service goals and strategies align with broader organizational objectives.
In addition to direct nursing service management, the position involves financial oversight including budget creation, monitoring, and variance analysis. The Nurse Manager also forecasts productivity, revenue, and expenses, and manages capital appropriations and project authorizations. On the human resources front, this role is responsible for assessing and allocating team resources based on patient acuity, regulating fair and legal staffing practices, managing conflicts, and tailoring management styles to foster motivation and team cohesiveness. Key behavioral competencies include crisis management, conflict resolution, mentoring, and promoting a healthy, culturally competent workplace environment.
The Nurse Manager drives performance improvement initiatives emphasizing safe practice, quality care, regulatory compliance, and evidence-based nursing research. Strong leadership qualities such as integrity, confidence, and the ability to motivate and influence others are essential. The role involves comprehensive clinical policy and standard oversight, healthcare policy and ethics compliance, and ensuring the organization meets regulatory requirements. To be successful in this position, candidates need a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, with a Master’s degree preferred, along with several years of clinical and leadership experience. Licensure as a Registered Nurse is required, and American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification must be maintained. This role requires relocation and offers a structured work schedule of five 8-hour days per week. Job Requirements
- Graduate of a registered nursing program
- Bachelor of science in nursing required
- Master’s degree in nursing, health administration, business administration, nursing, or related advanced degree preferred
- Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical patient care experience in a relevant setting
- Minimum of 2 years of healthcare leadership
- Registered nurse license in good standing in the state of employment or compact state if applicable
- Registered nurse required
- American heart association basic life support required
- Ability to relocate
