As part of the esteemed Nemours Children's Health system, which operates across six states and is supported by the Nemours Foundation and the Alfred I. duPont Trust, this hospital emphasizes high-quality clinical care, research, education, advocacy, and prevention programs targeted at improving children’s health outcomes. The Nemours system serves over 1.7 million patient encounters annually, offering services through two freestanding children’s hospitals and an extensive network of primary, urgent, and specialty care practices, as well as numerous hospital partnerships. Their commitment to a Whole Child Health approach ensures they address not only treatment but also prevention, partnering closely with communities to enable every child to thrive in a supportive and inclusive environment. Nemours Children’s Hospital in Florida adheres firmly to values of inclusion and belonging, aiming to reduce health disparities and foster a culturally relevant and equitable care environment for all patients and their families.

The role of Clinical Dietitian at Nemours Children’s Hospital, Florida, offers a full-time employment opportunity for professionals passionate about pediatric nutrition care, especially within a neonatal intensive care setting. This position is integral to the interdisciplinary healthcare team, providing inpatient clinical coverage primarily within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The Clinical Dietitian acts as a nutrition consultant, conducting thorough nutrition assessments and interventions for both inpatients and outpatients. This role is intricately tied to patient care, involving collaborations with physicians, nurses, social workers, therapists, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized nutritional care plans. These plans are informed by comprehensive evaluations of diet history, laboratory data, medications, supplements, medical history, and the patient's developmental status, including considerations of cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

In addition to assessment duties, the Clinical Dietitian prescribes enteral feeding and parenteral nutrition orders when necessary and documents all nutritional consultations and recommendations through the EPIC medical record system. The position demands clinical proficiency in direct patient consultation and is committed to completing all mandated clinical competencies. This role extends into educational responsibilities, updating and utilizing teaching materials related to nutritional therapies for various pediatric diseases. The Clinical Dietitian also serves as a vital resource to medical teams, hospital staff, and the community, supporting elevated standards of nutritional care. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with rotating remote weekend and holiday coverage to ensure continuous patient support. The role offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus for external applicants, reflecting the hospital's commitment to attracting qualified professionals dedicated to pediatric health and nutrition excellence.
