Job Description

Memorial Healthcare System is a prominent healthcare provider located in Miramar, Florida, dedicated to advancing the health, well-being, and overall quality of life of the individuals entrusted to its care. As a reputable health institution, Memorial Healthcare System embodies a steadfast commitment to delivering exceptional healthcare services, which form the foundation of The Memorial Experience. This commitment highlights the organization's patient-centered approach and its dedication to fostering an environment where quality, compassion, and professional excellence converge to improve patient outcomes.

The healthcare system is known for its multidisciplinary teams and comprehensive care strategies that prioritize both acute and long-term health requirements of their diverse patient populations. The culture at Memorial Healthcare System promotes collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement among its healthcare professionals, making it an employer of choice for those passionate about making a meaningful difference in patients' lives.

The Registered Dietitian role at Memorial Healthcare System involves identifying patients at nutritional risk and planning as well as implementing medical nutrition therapy for various patient populations within the facility. Under direct supervision, the dietitian performs detailed assessments of patients' nutritional needs. Based on these assessments, the dietitian develops and implements individualized care plans and closely monitors patients’ progress. This role demands comprehensive documentation of patient interactions and therapy outcomes using electronic health records, ensuring accuracy and continuity of care.

In this position, the dietitian collaborates intensively with the Food Service department to tailor nutritionally appropriate menus and food options customized to patients' health conditions. Additionally, this professional provides educational and counseling services aimed at improving patient knowledge and adherence to recommended nutritional strategies. The registered dietitian works alongside physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare team members to establish coordinated and integrative medical nutrition therapy, contributing critically to patient recovery and health maintenance.

The role also requires conducting nutrition-focused physical examinations and consulting with physicians for accurate malnutrition diagnosis where applicable. This position emphasizes communication skills, as dietitians frequently engage with patients and their families, explaining care plans and addressing nutrition-related concerns. Candidates should expect to work in a dynamic healthcare environment requiring critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to manage stressful situations with minimal supervision.

The position demands a high level of physical activity, including bending, stooping, sitting, standing, and walking, often while interacting with biohazards and other healthcare-related risks. Memorial Healthcare System offers a welcoming work environment with a strong emphasis on professional development, compliance with healthcare standards, and teamwork. Candidates for this role must possess or be eligible for the Registered Dietitian CDR Certification and hold or be able to obtain a Florida Dietitian/Nutritionist license within six months of hire. A master’s degree in dietetics, nutrition, or a related field is required for eligibility for the registration examination starting January 1, 2024.

This opportunity offers a chance to work in a supportive environment focused on improving community health through specialized nutritional care, making it ideal for dietitians eager to impact patient health outcomes positively.
