The Registered Dietitian role at Memorial Healthcare System involves identifying patients at nutritional risk and planning as well as implementing medical nutrition therapy for various patient populations within the facility. Under direct supervision, the dietitian performs detailed assessments of patients' nutritional needs. Based on these assessments, the dietitian develops and implements individualized care plans and closely monitors patients’ progress. This role demands comprehensive documentation of patient interactions and therapy outcomes using electronic health records, ensuring accuracy and continuity of care.

In this position, the dietitian collaborates intensively with the Food Service department to tailor nutritionally appropriate menus and food options customized to patients' health conditions. Additionally, this professional provides educational and counseling services aimed at improving patient knowledge and adherence to recommended nutritional strategies. The registered dietitian works alongside physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare team members to establish coordinated and integrative medical nutrition therapy, contributing critically to patient recovery and health maintenance.

The role also requires conducting nutrition-focused physical examinations and consulting with physicians for accurate malnutrition diagnosis where applicable.
