This full-time Clinical Dietitian I position is scheduled for days, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., making it ideal for individuals seeking a standard workweek with stable hours. The Clinical Dietitian is crucial in providing nutrition therapy and education directly to patients, families, and the broader community. The role involves conducting comprehensive nutritional assessments of patients, reviewing medical histories, interviewing patients and caregivers, and developing tailored nutrition care plans that may include intravenous and enteral nutrition therapy.
The Clinical Dietitian is also tasked with delivering both individual and group counseling sessions focusing on nutrition, diet, and fitness aimed at weight management and overall health improvement. Accurate documentation in medical records and close monitoring of patient progress are key to ensuring care plans are effective and updated as needed. Beyond patient care, this role includes developing and delivering educational programs and training sessions for staff, dietetic interns, and community groups. The dietitian contributes to research by writing proposals for grant funding, publishing articles, and presenting findings in various forums.
Collaboration is a core aspect as the Clinical Dietitian participates in multi-disciplinary rounds and case conferences, engages in discharge planning, and takes part in meetings to uphold nutrition standards and contribute to dietetic internship programs. Maintaining up-to-date professional knowledge through continuous education and participation in workshops and conferences is essential for success. The role also supports community outreach by organizing and executing health fairs and other events, thereby extending health education beyond the clinical setting.
Ideal candidates are those who demonstrate accountability in handling sensitive patient information, possess excellent problem-solving abilities, and are skilled in delivering clear, effective education and instructions. Working well within a patient-centered team and adjusting communication style to different audiences is vital. A caring, articulate, and professional demeanor, especially when managing complex or emotional situations, is expected. Licensed Registered Dietitians are preferred, emphasizing the importance of recognized credentials for this role.
