Texas Health Breeze Urgent Care, located at 7001 S. Custer Rd suite 900, Mckinney, Texas 75070, is a part of the Texas Health Resources network, one of the largest and most respected health systems in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., 365 days a year, Texas Health Breeze Urgent Care is equipped to treat a variety of minor illnesses and injuries such as allergies, earaches, sprains, and strains. As a Clinical Concierge Medical Assistant (MA) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) at Texas Health Breeze Urgent Care in Mckinney, you will play a vital role in the urgent care team, serving as the primary clinical liaison during patient visits. This full-time position requires working three 12-hour shifts a week with rotating days, weekends, and holidays, from 7:45 AM to 8:15 PM. The role involves floating across multiple Texas Health Urgent Care locations, providing a dynamic and varied experience within the organization. The Clinical Concierge MA/LVN is responsible for welcoming patients and their secondary guests, guiding them through the entire visit, performing clinical and administrative duties, and ensuring an exceptional consumer experience. This includes patient registration, collecting payments, rooming patients, documenting vitals and medical history in the electronic health record (EPIC), performing lab testing, assisting providers with procedures, administering medications, and handling emergency situations with professionalism and discretion. This position demands strong communication skills, empathy, good judgment, and a customer service attitude to effectively build rapport and trust with patients and their families. Job Requirements

  • H.S. diploma or equivalent
  • completion of a Medical Assistant education program or Vocational Nurse program required
  • 6 months clinical experience as LVN, MA, CNA, or completion of internal THR MA externship
  • certified or registered medical assistant or LVN licensed in Texas upon hire
  • BCLS certification within 30 days of hire
  • THR urine drug collector training within 30 days of hire
  • previous EHR experience preferred

Job Qualifications

  • H.S. diploma or equivalent
  • successful completion of a Medical Assistant education program certified or registered medical assistant, or other successful completion of vocational nurse program
  • 6 months of previous healthcare facility clinical experience as LVN, MA, CNA, or other patient care experience or completion of an internal THR MA externship training program in lieu of experience
  • previous experience with electronic health record preferred
  • certified or registered medical assistant in lieu of completion of a medical assistant education program, or LVN licensed vocational nurse State of Texas, if LVN upon hire
  • BCLS basic cardiac life support maintained every 2 years and required prior to providing independent patient care within 30 days of hire
  • THR urine drug collector training maintained every 5 years and required prior to providing independent care within 30 days of hire

Job Duties

  • Collects identification and payor related documentation, conducts registration using EPIC workflow
  • measures and documents vitals and communicates the resulting data to the consumer and provider, including temperature, pulse, oxygen saturation, respiration, blood pressure, height, weight, and pain level
  • documents chief complaint, allergies, health history, and current medications accurately in EPIC for review by provider
  • performs and documents laboratory testing and collections per provider orders and/or standard operating procedures, to include venipuncture with prior competency check-off
  • administers and documents oral and intramuscular medication using appropriate medication verification workflow
  • assists provider with procedures including sterile field maintenance, laceration repair, I&D, and application of ortho-goods and ortho-glass
  • behaves in a professional and empathetic manner to build trust, comfort, understanding, and relationships with consumers and secondary guests
  • welcomes consumers and secondary guests to the center with eye contact, smile, greeting, and personal introduction, inquiring about visit purpose and nature
  • recognizes and notifies provider immediately of emergent patients, performs BLS, provides oxygen administration, and assists provider with emergency care
  • schedules primary care referrals for consumers
  • maintains office supplies, medical supplies, and medications at appropriate par levels
  • performs quality checks throughout the facility per established policies and procedures
  • other duties as assigned
