The Clinical Concierge role at Texas Health Breeze Urgent Care is an essential clinical and administrative position that plays a vital part in enhancing the consumer experience during urgent care visits. Located primarily at the Flower Mound facility with duties across multiple Texas Health Urgent Care locations, this full-time job involves working 3 twelve-hour shifts weekly, including rotating days, weekends, and holidays from morning until evening. The Clinical Concierge serves as a guide and clinical partner who supports both the provider and the patient through each step of the visit—from patient registration and documentation to clinical assistance and discharge. This role requires a mix of clinical skills, strong interpersonal communication, and a customer-focused approach to ensure maximum throughput and clinical excellence.
In this position, the Clinical Concierge handles responsibilities such as collecting patient identification and insurance information, conducting thorough patient registration using the EPIC electronic health record system, measuring and documenting vital signs, performing laboratory testing including venipuncture, administering oral and intramuscular medications, and assisting providers during various procedures like laceration repair, incision and drainage, and application of orthopedic supplies. In addition to these clinical duties, the Concierge manages office and medical supplies, schedules primary care referrals, performs quality control checks, and diligently maintains a clean and safe clinical environment. This role demands discretion, sound judgment, empathy, and professional conduct to foster patient trust and enhance the overall patient experience.
The Clinical Concierge position requires specific licensing and certifications including being a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) or a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) registered in Texas, along with Basic Cardiac Life Support certification and OPIC drug collector training. Job Requirements
- H.S. diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of a medical assistant education program or vocational nurse program required
- Certification or registration as a medical assistant or vocational nurse licensed in Texas upon hire
- Minimum 6 months of prior clinical healthcare experience including roles such as LVN, MA, or CNA or completion of internal THR MA externship training
- Basic cardiac life support (BCLS) certification required within 30 days of hire
- THR urine drug collector training required within 30 days of hire
- Ability to perform venipuncture with competency check-off
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Availability to work full-time including rotating days, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to use electronic health record systems
Job Qualifications
- H.S. diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of a medical assistant education program and certification or registration as a medical assistant
- OR successful completion of a vocational nurse program
- Previous healthcare facility clinical experience as a LVN, MA, CNA, or equivalent patient care experience or completion of an internal THR MA externship training program
- Previous experience with electronic health records preferred
- Certified or registered medical assistant or licensed vocational nurse in the state of Texas upon hire
- BCLS - basic cardiac life support certification maintained every 2 years
- THR urine drug collector training maintained every 5 years
Job Duties
- Collects identification and payor related documentation, conducts registration using EPIC workflow
- Measures and documents vitals and communicates the resulting data to the consumer and provider, including temperature, pulse, oxygen saturation, respiration, blood pressure, height, weight, and pain level
- Documents chief complaint, allergies, health history, and current medications accurately in EPIC for review by provider
- Performs and documents laboratory testing and collections per provider orders and/or standard operating procedures, including venipuncture with prior competency check-off
- Administers and documents oral and intramuscular medication using appropriate medication verification workflow
- Assists provider with procedures including maintaining sterile field, laceration repair, I&D, and application of ortho-goods and ortho-glass
- Behaves professionally and empathetically to build trust, comfort, understanding, and relationships with consumers and secondary guests
- Welcomes consumers and secondary guests to the center including eye contact, smile, greeting, and personal introduction, and inquires about the purpose and nature of the visit
- Recognizes and notifies provider immediately of emergent patients, performs BLS, provides oxygen administration, and assists provider with emergency care
- Schedules primary care referrals for consumers
- Maintains office supplies, medical supplies, and medications at appropriate par levels
- Performs quality checks throughout the facility per established policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
