The centers are open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., 365 days a year, treating a wide range of minor illnesses and injuries such as allergies, earaches, sprains, and strains. This job opening is for a Clinical Concierge Medical Assistant or Licensed Vocational Nurse based in Frisco, Texas, with a role that floats across multiple Texas Health Urgent Care locations. The position is full-time and requires working three 12-hour shifts per week, including rotating days, weekends, and holidays, with hours spanning from 7:45 AM to 8:15 PM. As a Clinical Concierge, you will play an essential role in enhancing the patient experience by guiding individuals and their guests through their urgent care visit. This involves managing patient registration, collecting payments, taking vitals, assisting healthcare providers during clinical procedures, and discharging patients efficiently while maintaining a high standard of care. This role demands strong clinical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a busy clinical environment. You will be expected to uphold a professional and empathetic demeanor that builds trust and comfort for patients and their guests. Additionally, you will maintain competency in various assigned clinical duties and rotate among different positions as needed to support a seamless patient flow and clinical excellence within the urgent care centers.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant education program or Vocational Nurse program
  • Six months of previous healthcare facility clinical experience or completion of THR MA externship
  • Certified or registered Medical Assistant or Licensed Vocational Nurse license upon hire
  • BCLS certification required within 30 days of hire
  • THR Urine Drug Collector training required within 30 days of hire
  • Ability to perform varied clinical and administrative duties
  • Availability to work full-time with 12-hour shifts including rotating days, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant education program, certified or registered Medical Assistant or completion of a Vocational Nurse program
  • 6 months of previous healthcare facility clinical experience as LVN, MA, CNA or similar patient care or completion of internal THR MA externship
  • Previous experience with electronic health records preferred
  • Certified or registered Medical Assistant if not completed Medical Assistant education program or LVN license upon hire
  • BCLS certification maintained every 2 years
  • THR Urine Drug Collector training within 30 days of hire

Job Duties

  • Collects identification and payor related documentation, conducts registration using EPIC workflow
  • Measures and documents vitals and communicates the resulting data to the consumer and provider, including temperature, pulse, oxygen saturation, respiration, blood pressure, height, weight, and pain level
  • Documents chief complaint, allergies, health history, and current medications accurately in EPIC for review by provider
  • Performs and documents laboratory testing and collections per provider orders and/or standard operating procedures, including venipuncture with prior competency check-off
  • Administers and documents oral and intramuscular medication using the appropriate medication verification workflow
  • Assists provider with procedures such as maintaining sterile field, laceration repair, I&D, and application of ortho-goods and ortho-glass
  • Behaves in a professional and empathetic manner to build trust, comfort, understanding, and relationships with consumers and their guests
  • Welcomes consumers and guests to the center with eye contact, smile, greeting, and personal introduction while inquiring about visit purpose
  • Recognizes and notifies provider immediately of emergent patients, performs BLS, provides oxygen administration, and assists provider with emergency care
  • Schedules primary care referrals for consumers
  • Maintains office supplies, medical supplies, and medications at appropriate par levels
  • Performs quality checks throughout the facility per established policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned
