Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of approved NCT training program
- Successful completion of a Medical Assistant education program or vocational nurse program
- At least six months of previous clinical experience in a healthcare setting as LVN, MA, CNA, or patient care
- At least six months of x-ray experience or completion of internal training
- Registration as NCT by Texas Medical Board upon hire
- State of Texas LVN license if LVN upon hire
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire
- Texas Health urine drug collector training required within 30 days of hire
Job Qualifications
- H.S. diploma or equivalent
- Completion of approved NCT training program
- Successful completion of a Medical Assistant education program or vocational nurse program
- Six months previous healthcare facility clinical experience as LVN, MA, CNA, or other patient care
- Six months previous x-ray experience or internal Texas Health Resources NCT training
- NCT registered by Texas Medical Board upon hire
- LVN licensed in Texas if applicable
- Other certified or registered Medical Assistant credential accepted
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 30 days of hire
- Texas Health Resources urine drug collector training within 30 days of hire
Job Duties
- Collects identification and payor related documentation, conducts registration using EPIC workflow
- Measures and documents vitals and communicates the resulting data to the consumer and provider, including temperature, pulse, oxygen saturation, respiration, blood pressure, height, weight, and pain level
- Documents chief complaint, allergies, health history, and current medications accurately in EPIC for review by provider
- Performs and documents laboratory testing and collections per provider orders and/or standard operating procedures, to include venipuncture with prior competency check-off
- Administers and documents oral and intramuscular medication using appropriate medication verification workflow
- Assists provider with procedures including maintaining sterile field, laceration repair, I&D, and application of ortho-goods and ortho-glass
- Performs diagnostic x-rays within licensed scope as ordered and verifies documentation
- Behaves in a professional and empathetic manner to build trust and comfort with patients and guests
- Welcomes patients and guests with eye contact, smile, greeting and personal introduction
- Recognizes and notifies provider immediately of emergent patients, performs BLS, provides oxygen administration, assists with emergency care
- Schedules primary care referrals for patients
- Maintains office, medical supplies, and medications at appropriate par levels
- Performs quality checks per established policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
