The Clinic Services Specialist position at Legacy Health is a vital frontline role within the organization that acts as the first point of contact for patients. Often known as a clinic receptionist or patient access specialist, this individual is responsible for delivering an exceptional patient experience by managing appointment scheduling, verifying insurance, handling patient registration, and managing co-pay collections with accuracy and professionalism. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of one year of healthcare experience preferred
- Ability to thrive in a demanding environment
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Self-directed and able to take initiative
- Passion for healthcare and commitment to patient-centered service
- Ability to handle complex tasks requiring prioritization and discretion
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of one year of healthcare experience or equivalent education preferred
- Experience in admitting, medical records/health information, or clerical support preferred
- Familiarity with medical terminology
- Strong communication skills
- Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions
- BLS certification preferred
Job Duties
- Scheduling patient appointments with accuracy and care
- Verifying insurance and handling patient registration
- Managing co-pay collections and balancing daily/weekly deposits
- Supporting front-office operations and serving as a resource for colleagues
- Assisting with limited coding and charge entry as needed
- Problem solving independently and mentoring others
- Interfacing regularly with physicians and staff
