Job Description

Unity Care NW is a private, non-profit, federally qualified health center (FQHC) dedicated to serving the greater Whatcom County area since 1982. Unity Care NW is committed to offering healthcare services to a diverse and often underserved patient population of all ages. Employing more than 300 compassionate and dedicated staff members, the center strives to improve community health through accessible and quality care. The mission is firmly anchored in increasing the years of healthy life for the people and communities it serves by valuing respect, integrity, accountability, collaboration, and innovation. These core values guide the way the organization operates, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for both employees and patients alike.

The role of Clinic Receptionist at Unity Care NW is pivotal in maintaining a welcoming and efficient patient experience. This position focuses on front desk responsibilities, including greeting patients and visitors, managing appointment scheduling, processing payments, and entering data accurately into clinical and scheduling systems. As the first point of contact, the receptionist ensures a positive and friendly atmosphere, supporting Unity Care NW’s dedication to outstanding patient care. The position is non-exempt and hourly, offering a competitive wage range from $22.71 to $26.71 per hour, with potential increases up to $30.66 over time, including a Saturday shift differential of 10%. Work hours are scheduled either as a 40-hour, 5-day week including Saturdays with one consistent weekday off, or a 40-hour, 4-day week with one weekday off, depending on operational needs and shift preference. Candidates will have the opportunity to discuss shift preferences during the interview process.

This role requires strong communication and data entry skills, proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook, and familiarity with payment systems. Experience working in medical or dental office settings and cultural competency in addressing underserved populations are valuable. The Clinic Receptionist at Unity Care NW holds significant responsibility in contributing to the smooth operation of clinical services and ensuring each patient feels respected and cared for from the moment they enter the clinic. Those who join the team will benefit from a collaborative work environment where their contributions directly support the health and well-being of the community.
