This rural clinic offers a variety of healthcare services to meet the encompassing needs of the community including complete family care, walk-in services available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. for sudden illnesses or injuries, and behavioral health services. The center also houses the Pleasant Hope Rehabilitation Clinic, providing physical therapy to help patients recover from illness, pain, or disability by improving their coordination, strength, motion, and overall function. The department is staffed by a full-time physician and nurse practitioner, alongside a full-time lab and x-ray technician, fostering a well-rounded and supportive healthcare team dedicated to improving community health outcomes. The Clerk role at the Pleasant Hope Family Medical Center is pivotal in supporting the daily operations of the clinic. This position entails a variety of administrative duties including assisting in patient scheduling, managing telephone calls and routing them appropriately, making patient appointments as guided by providers and clinic managers, and responding to inquiries about clinic services and fees. The clerk also handles simple insurance queries and screens emergency calls to ensure patient safety. Additionally, responsibilities include processing patient forms, scanning documents, updating consent and insurance information, maintaining up-to-date demographic data, and organizing clinic paperwork efficiently. The Clerk communicates closely with healthcare providers and nursing staff to ensure smooth clinic operations and delivers excellent customer service by assisting patients courteously during their visit and helping resolve any questions or issues prior to their departure. This role requires an individual who is well-organized, able to multitask, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Physical demands include the ability to work at a computer for 90 percent of the day and to stand for the remaining time.
