The Environmental Field Chemist works primarily at customer sites, both indoors and outdoors, assisting with lab packs, household hazardous waste collections, and lab relocations. The role requires strong attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to manage physically demanding tasks. Candidates must possess a Class B CDL with a Hazmat endorsement or be willing to obtain it upon hire, and they must have a valid driver's license. The company offers competitive pay ranging from $25 to $27 per hour and a $5,000 sign-on bonus. This position guarantees that candidates return home every night, with occasional weekend work required.

Clean Harbors also supports career advancement, providing employee stock purchase plans, 401K with company match, paid training, and tuition reimbursement. The Environmental Field Chemist role serves as a stepping stone to many management opportunities within the company, making it attractive for transitioning military personnel and others looking to build a long-term career with a respected environmental leader. The company encourages internal transfers to any of their 200+ branch locations, facilitating broad exposure and growth. This position represents a chance to be a part of a dedicated team that values safety, sustainability, and innovation in environmental services. Clean Harbors is also committed to diversity and accessibility, offering accommodations for individuals with disabilities and promoting equal opportunity employment.
