The Porter role at Gategroup stationed in East Boston within Unit 1013_GG East is crucial in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the facility, an essential part of ensuring food safety and workplace efficiency. This full-time position is responsible for cleaning work areas such as dish rooms, coolers, utility areas, locker rooms, restrooms, office spaces, and all transportation areas inside and outside the facility. The role demands a meticulous approach to sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and trash removal to uphold the facility’s hygiene and meet corporate sanitation standards.
Working as a Porter, the individual will frequently handle cleaning tasks using various chemical and industrial cleaning materials and must be able to work with products including pork, poultry, meat, and fish. The environment is dynamic with exposure to extreme temperature changes and noise, requiring physical stamina for standing, bending, lifting, and moving equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds throughout an 8-plus hour shift. This position requires flexibility to work assigned schedules which may include weekends, holidays, and overtime as necessary.

Job Requirements

Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Up to one-year experience preferred
- Must be able to read and write to complete required forms
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers
Job Duties
- Sweeps, mops, vacuums and performs other cleaning tasks as required
- Empties trash within the building
- Maintains sanitation in compliance with sanitation standards and corporate requirements
