However, for positions within school districts or Boards of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES), a mandatory employment clearance from the State Education Department is required due to direct contact with students, complying with Chapter 180 of the Laws of 2000 and Commissioner of Education regulations.

The cleaning duties encompass a wide range of tasks necessary to maintain all areas of the facility. Responsibilities include cleaning and washing bathroom facilities, sweeping and dust mopping hard surface floors, dusting and polishing furniture and fixtures such as radiators and venetian blinds, and washing marks and stains from walls and various surfaces. Vacuuming carpets and upholstered furniture, emptying ashtrays and wastebaskets, and refilling soap and paper product dispensers are also critical to maintaining hygiene standards.
