Additionally, staff members conduct Foreign Object Debris (FOD) walks and are responsible for maintaining their work areas as well as service equipment used in cleaning activities.
This role demands flexibility as it requires working in varying weather conditions, sometimes at heights, and adhering to safety standards including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The Aircraft Cleaner works collaboratively with supervisors and other employees, often using computer and electronic systems relevant to the job. Employment with American Airlines entails adhering to government safety regulations including those enforced by the FAA, TSA, and DOT, as well as complying with company procedures. The position offers opportunities for career advancement through specialized training and skill development alongside some of the industry's top aviation professionals. The job promotes balancing personal and professional life while providing travel perks, health benefits, wellness programs, and retirement plans. Candidates must pass background and drug testing per DOT regulations and be prepared for rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
